Who is David (Bo) Dever?

I am posting this article for everyone that may not know who Bo Dever is and would like to know a little bit more about him. David (Bo) Dever is a University of Michigan football walk on. BO is a WR 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, and is a prototypical slot receiver, he separates and finds space, and has great hands.
He is from Forest, IL Lake Forest High School

Lake Forest High was 7-4 last season making it into the state playoffs. Lake Forest lost in the 2nd Round of the playoffs to Crystal Lake South 17-28 to end their season.

Bo's High School Lake Forest Class of 2009 matched the previous all-time high composite for the ACT test with a mean score of 25.6, ranking the high school fifth statewide compared to other open enrollment public high schools. Ninety-one percent of the Class of 2009-10 enrolled in a four-year college.

Bo is a VERY smart kid. He made it into Michigan on his own merit, 27 act score and above a 4.0 at Lake Forest.

Bo is not the only Michigan fan in the family! In fact the whole family is Blue. Both mother and father played at Michigan. David Dever, was a lineman for the Wolverines under Bo Schembechler from 1984-88. Bo Dever was named after Bo Schembechler. His sister Morgan will also be going to Michigan. So this is a family affair for sure!
After impressing the Wolverines’ coaching staff by winning the Michigan Football Camp MVP award Dever accepted an offer to join the program as a walk-on in 2012. Bo has always wanted to play for Michigan and remembers going to the Big House as a youngster. Even though full scholarships from other Universities were sure to come this was his dream and he did not want to pass this opportunity up. So he made the commitment on the spot without a second thought!

Here are some great quotes from Bo:

  • "I'm here to work,not for show."

  • "What drives me is what drives anyone who laces up their cleats: I want,no I will, Be playing football at the collegiate level."

  • "I would compare my playing style to Jerry Rice. I'm not saying I'm Jerry Rice, I'm not the fastest player on the field, but my route running and my ability to catch passes is what makes me the player I am."

For the most part this kid is probably a 2 - 3 star recruit. He could make a significant impact depending on Stonum's situation and the number and type of receiver(s) taken in the 2012 class. Jeff Hecklinski told him there is potential for a scholarship in his upperclassmen years, but as of now he'll just be a preferred walk-on.

Well Bo you are off to a great start in your adult life. Michigan will be a nice building block. You could not have picked a better University. Congratulations and from everyone here at Everything Michigan and More GO BLUE FOREVER!!
